"The Show Will Go On" - Bruce Barish

When you tell a story, especially when that story is about a real person or event, you're in an incredible position of power -- to interpret that story and share it beyond yourself. Of course, with that power comes an immense responsibility, to both the subject of the story and the time and place you're telling the story.

Bruce Barish is the fourth-generation owner of Ernest Winzer Cleaners, the premier dry cleaner for Broadway’s costumes since 1908. In his talk, Bruce recalls the impact of 9-11, hurricane Sandy and the COVID-10 pandemic has had on the family-owned business and why he knows the show will go on. In keeping with his grandfather's service philosophy, Bruce takes personal responsibility for seeing to it that Winzer always satisfies demands of its most discriminating customer.At the 72nd Annual Tony Awards, Bruce accepted an Excellence in the Theatre award on behalf of the family business.
