What's the biggest topic on Broadway?

Answer: Diversity and Inclusion.

Each year, all applicants for our Young Professional Program are asked “What’s the BEST Broadway can be?” By an overwhelming margin, their answers relate to diversity and inclusion.

Over our 8-year history,  we’ve explored the topic from many different angles, and from myriad speakers, who’ve shared their remarkable and moving insights. But it was at TEDxBroadway 2019 when Oshoke Pamela Abalu challenged us to question the words we’re using when talking about diversity and inclusion. It’s a talk not to be missed.

Watch as she outlines reasons why we should rethink the word “diversity” and instead embrace a new idea, “symphony.”

It’s a topic we’re committed to exploring further. After all, it’s central to making Broadway the best it can be.

We hope you’ll join us for this year’s event at New World Stages on Tuesday, October 13. Get your tickets now during our special pre-sale.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Cheers,
Damian and Jim
